This is the website for a new bi-monthly seminar and reading group aimed at graduate students from 'anglo-saxon' universities working in the broadly-defined field of French Studies, in Paris. The convenors are Katie Jones (Nottingham), Jennifer Solheim (Michigan) and Jane Weston (Bristol). While dividing our time between work as
lectrices d'anglais and our doctoral research, we felt we were getting out of the habit of discussing academic topics, and didn't really feel as though we belonged to a research community. We hope that this seminar will bring together postgraduate researchers based in Paris, whether for a short research trip or longer-term, and offer an environment in which people can present their research, share ideas, and meet other researchers with similar interests.
This blog will provide details of past and forthcoming events, and we hope that it will also become a space for our participants to post short articles, book and film reviews, and advice about living and researching in Paris. If you would like more information about our seminar, or if you want to be added to the blog as an author, please e-mail us on
parisgradseminar@gmail.com.
